Our History
The McGinley School of Irish Dancing was established in 1994 in
Brampton, Ontario, Canada by Clair McGinley-Faloona. Due to the
successes of the dancers in local competitions, enrollment rapidly
increased and the little school began to grow.
In 1996 Eileen McGinley, newly qualified teacher, expanded the school
into Georgetown, Ontario. It was in September of 2001 that the youngest
sister, Roisin, returned from touring with Lord of the Dance, and joined
forces with her two sisters. The school that began as a small beginner
class had now matured into an Academy with three teachers and classes
offered at every level from beginner to Open Championship.
Little did they know that in the fall of 2002, the McGinley Academy
would undergo yet another expansion. This time it was to Tampa, Florida
with the marriage and subsequent move of Eileen to the sunny south.
The McGinley Academy now offers classes in Ontario, Canada and
Florida, USA.
